Shot on MiniDV, on my old (and rather crappy) digital video camera. Running time of part one:7mins:36secs

It all started a little over a year ago, when my friend Elizabeth Lee (www.lizleenyc.com) came into where I worked to help out for a week, answering phones and shielding me from unruly messengers, etc. while my boss and coworker were out on vacation. Being the industrious entrepenuers that we are (and one aspiring actress (Mary) and one aspiring filmmaker (me)) we thought "hey, we've got a location, why not make a movie?!"

...and so "The Dispatcher" was born. We shot it pretty much every afternoon throughout the week, after we'd finished our work for the day, improvising the action and shots as we went along. Elizabeth came up with the script pretty much overnight, smartly adding in add'l roles that we could add in post-production.

I adapted the script from a short story by Lou Reed called "The Gift",

which is read aloud by John Cale on the 1968 Velvet Underground

album "White Light/White Heat". This was shot while in my 2nd year at The School of Visual Arts.

This is a short film I helped make while attending ITRP -

the Institute for Television, Film and Radio Production at Boston University's College of Communications.

I got roped into acting in it but I think the results were well worth the chocolate syrup I got drenched in!:
